  • Request your 6 all-time-favourite songs are installed on the jukebox
  • Write an initial guest list, this may need to be shortened depending on your budget and size of venue or space available at yours
  • Four weeks before your event, book a jukebox or karaoke system
  • Send invitations to all guests with specific details, eg rsvp by …, date, party start time, what to bring, what not to bring (many people insist on no presents), where to turn up (your place or a venue)
  • Contact your guests again, about ten days before the event just to remind them
  • Make a list of what you will need for your jukebox party, lights, smoke machine, microphone (s) for speech, decorations, paper plates, disposable cutlery (if that’s your thing)
  • Set a budget, most people allow for between $15 and $50 a head, excluding the entertainment (jukebox hire)
  • Get your own outfit organised, hire costume or special party dress or smart outfit for men or mix of either, depending on your sway.
